Pickleball is the fastest growing sport in North America, and is mostly played doubles on a court half the size of a tennis court, using a racquet resembling an over-sized Ping Pong paddle and a plastic, whiffle-like style ball. Game rules are a mix of Tennis and Ping Pong that are easy to grasp and it’s a fun game for all ages to play together. Pickleball is being fast-tracked as a potential sport in upcoming Olympic Games.
8-16 Indoor and 8-12 outdoor Pickleball courts are available exclusively for GVSC member play! Paved asphalt surface for both outdoor AND indoor courts provide true Pickleball bounce, and the cushioned surface means minimal knee and joint fatigue, while maximizing player performance and comfort. Court footprints are 30 x 60 feet, allowing for generous space between courts. There will be both an indoor AND outdoor championship court at GVSC.

Squash is a popular racquet sport requiring stamina, as it is a sport that tests endurance and strategy. Squash is so named due to the small "squashable" hollow rubber balls used in the game. Typically a game for two singles players, doubles matches can be played on larger courts.
GVSC’s Lower Mainland plans include featuring 2 double and 4 single courts if 150 GVSC Squash memberships are sold.

Do you like tennis, squash, pickleball or racquetball? Then you are going to love Padel, or Paddle Tennis, the newest fast-growing paddle sport. Padel’s name says it all, as instead of using a stringed racquet, players use a rubber/foam paddle featuring holes. Padel is action-packed and fun, and because the sport is easy to learn, it's great for people of all ages and skill levels. Padel doesn't require a lot of strength or endurance to play, and, since it’s a great game for players of all ages, it's a lot easier to find people to play with. If 150 GVSC Padel memberships are sold, then 1 indoor and 2 indoor courts are to be constructed.
